Snow & Skiing

During winter time we often have snow on the farm and we offer our guests the opportunity to spend some time in a winter wonderland of snow. Kinmel Guest Farm is perfectly situated to stay over on your way, or use as a base for day visits to Tiffindell ski resort (Tiffindell ski resort currently closed).

Winter temperatures are severe and often reach well below zero. It is always advisable to bring warm clothes, a hat and a raincoat as the weather in the mountains can change rapidly and several "seasons" can be experienced in a single day. Remember to not travel alone during snow season and inform someone where you are going.

Learn to ski - use Kinmel guest farm as your base camp and drive the 20km up to Tiffindell ski resort.

Remember to put antifreeze into your car radiator and window bottle.

Snow

During the years, Kinmel has seen snow fall during every month of the year.

Flowers

The Drakensberg is a world of botanical opulence, many with spectacular flowers, at least 16 percent of which occur nowhere else in the world.

Bearded Vulture

The bearded vulture is the only animal that feeds almost exclusively on bone (70-90%).
